We love to eat. We love magazines (long live print!) And we really love Gather Journal, founded and produced by our friends Michele Outland and Fiorella Valdesolo. (Buy it soon at Covet + Lou.) The bi-annual recipe-driven magazine is as beautiful to read (and reread) as it is to look at, both useful to fellow food lovers and very, very personal. There are recipes, stories about dinner parties and food experiences, not to mention stunning food photography, all designed to celebrate the beauty of food and, perhaps more importantly, the beauty of coming together to share the food. That it’s amazing is no surprise—between them, they’ve worked for nearly every print publication imaginable, including so many of our favorites, like NYLON, Teen Vogue, Domino, and the New York Times Magazine. In its very first year, Gather won awards from the James Beard Foundation and the Society of Publication Designers (big deals, both) for its consistently breathtaking visual storytelling. So yeah, these girls got taste.
Your idea of happiness? A full belly, loved ones, and the ocean. New York or L.A.? New York, always and forever. What do you most dislike about contemporary culture? How disposable it can be. In your time away from work, what do you do? Eat, drink, be merry.
