Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday

Relocating a business during an unprecedented world wide pandemic may have sounded like a crazy idea to many (I definitely had my apprehensions). But I can say without doubt that it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Our new home of Newton Highlands has embraced us with open arms and an overwhelming sense of exuberance, for which we are so grateful. So in celebration of Small Business Saturday, we’d like to highlight some of the amazing local businesses who are now our neighbors and friends. Welcome to Newton Highlands!

SALON CAPRI

Our dear friends, Nick and Amy Penna, have been helming Salon Capri for nearly two decades. Through their cutting edge techniques and top notch client service, they have developed a long-standing, loyal following.

LAKON PATISSERIE

Jenny Kiangkaew opened this gem of a patisserie in 2020. An alum of Barbara Lynch’s Menton, Jenny’s baked goods are divine. It’s not unusual to see patrons lined up down the block waiting to get their hands on coffee, pastries, and French macarons. But what she is most renowned for is her croissants (both sweet and savory). My favorite is the milk cream cube croissant!

ADAMAS FINE JEWELRY

Brother and sister team Anto Aboyan and Veronica Sagherian have a passion for fine jewelry. They have a talent for merging the classic with the contemporary to create beautiful, timeless pieces.

INDULGE!

This institution has been around since 1991. Founded by Linda Gulman, Indulge! is more than a neighborhood candy shop. She also sells a variety of unique gifts. And Linda is a true champion of small business in Newton Highlands.

CROWE BARRE

I started taking barre with Denise Crowe in the early 2000’s, when she ran the fitness program at Exhale in Boston’s Back Bay, and became hooked. Her classes are tough, full of positive energy and never dull. She has a tremendous attention to detail and ensures proper form and alignment. I’m so happy she opened Crowe Barre in our ‘hood!

BUTTONWOOD

This is our new local spot. The rustic, modern menu is nicely complemented by the innovative cocktail and wine lists. Everything here is delicious so we usually order several things to taste and share. The BW Cheeseburger is a must try.
