Father-son duo Toshikiyo (TH) and Kazuhiro (Kiro) Hirata are the main force behind Kapital, which takes its name from the city of Kojima, also known as the “Denim Capital” of Japan. Founded in 1984, the brand is known for their painstaking attention to detail. Using vintage American sewing machines, they create one-wash denim using American heritage techniques, by hand, in no fewer than 25 steps.
